Equipment for Lake District Mountain Walking
You must be prepared for wet weather and boggy conditions underfoot. However, the lodge has a good drying room which will dry wet clothing overnight. You will require the following equipment:
• Strong, comfortable walking boots with ankle support
• Thick walking socks
• Gaiters
• Thermal base layer tops
• Fleece tops and walking trousers
• Fleece jacket
• Fleece hat and gloves
• Robust, breathable waterproof jacket and trousers
• Water bottles or bladders
• Head torch with spare batteries
• Whistle
• Flask
• Rucksack of at least 25 litres, with waterproof liner
• Trainers and complete change of clothes for indoors
• Sleeping bag
• Pillow Case
• Toiletries and lightweight towel
• Rucksack of at least 65 litres, with waterproof liner
