Equipment for Lake District Mountain Walking

 

You must be prepared for wet weather and boggy conditions underfoot. However, the lodge has a good drying room which will dry wet clothing overnight. You will require the following equipment:

 

        Strong, comfortable walking boots with ankle support

        Thick walking socks

        Gaiters

        Thermal base layer tops

        Fleece tops and walking trousers

        Fleece jacket

        Fleece hat and gloves

        Robust, breathable waterproof jacket and trousers

        Water bottles or bladders

        Head torch with spare batteries

        Whistle

        Flask

        Rucksack of at least 25 litres, with waterproof liner

        Trainers and complete change of clothes for indoors

        Sleeping bag

        Pillow Case

        Toiletries and lightweight towel

        Rucksack of at least 65 litres, with waterproof liner
